Then why not pursue a career in business administration.

What's it all about?

Administration is the key to making any organisation, regardless of size, run smoothly and efficiently. Through the use of office procedures and systems, administrators are responsible for supporting the business achieve its targets.

This means you will be involved in different activities, which could include anything from monitoring and managing information to organising events. To do these tasks you will have to develop skills such as communication and time management. On a day-to-day basis you will carry out such tasks as filing documents, faxing, sending e-mails, word processing, photocopying, answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries.

What does the training involve?

This qualification is very flexible in its structure, enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.

Like all NVQ’s, the qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to your ability to perform a range of tasks connected with your work. You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and knowledge. You will attend Martec once a month on day release.
