Tim's Story
(Heavy Vehicle Technician)

Timothy Granados is part way through his HGV Technician Advanced Level Apprenticeship and has worked at Wardle Transport, a local family run bus company, since August 2007.

Before Tim left school he knew that he wanted to find an apprenticeship working with vehicles as was keen to get hands on experience in something that he loved to do and wanted to earn a wage at the same time. With this in mind he spoke to his school Connexion's PA who told him about Martec training.

Tim's duties mainly consist of routine servicing of the coaches and buses within the fleet at Wardle Transport, he says that to succeed in this trade you need to be dedicated, have good practical skills, be a team player and have a real enthusiasm for the job and working on large scale vehicles.

Tim has progressed very well over the last 3 years, he hopes to finish his Advanced Level Apprenticeship in the near future and to move up the careers ladder at Wardle Transport and maybe one day be able to run his own workshop.
