Are you organised?
Can you multi task?
Do you like dealing with people?
Then why not pursue a career in Retail.

What is it all about?

There are almost as many different careers and job roles in the retail industry as there are different goods on sale. Organisations within this sector range from small businesses to large out of town shopping complexes, and corporate and international companies.

Vocational Qualifications in Retail are designed to give you a thorough grounding in all the different aspects of the industry. Duties may include displaying stock to specification to attract customer interest and promote sales, contributing to maintaining a safe, healthy and secure environment, providing goods from stock on request, processing orders for goods, processing returned goods and materials and providing information and advice to customers.

What kind of job could I get?

What does the training involve?

This qualification is very flexible in its structure, enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role.

Like all NVQ’s, the qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to your ability to perform a range of tasks connected with your work. You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and knowledge. You will attend Martec once a month on day release.

What will I achieve?

Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship, Technical Certificate, Key Skills around Application of Number and Communication.
