Martec training – An Independent School

If you are aged 14-19 you can attend Martec Training on a weekly basis as an alternative to attending a mainstream school.

At Martec, students learn in a practical way, from building go karts to making bricks, the majority of learning takes place on the workshop floor. Throughout students time at Martec they work towards qualifications to a Level 1 standard in Motor Vehicle and Personal, Social Development through IMI and City and Guilds. Students also have the opportunity to gain qualifications in different areas such as First Aid. Functional Skills(English, Maths and ICT) are also a key part of learning at Martec, dedicated tutors deliver these subjects in a way that is relevant to everyday life up to Level 2.

During students time at Martec tutors focus on progression and next steps. Once students have reached the school leaving age, we will then help them progress onto other courses, either that Martec offer or refer the individual to a local College or other training provider. If the individual would prefer to seek employment opportunities we will help and guide them in applications.

Martec offer great pastoral care to learners. There is a dedicated welfare officer on site to deal with any issues or concerns learners may have .
