What is it all about?

Distribution and Warehousing plays a vital part in keeping industry supplied with raw materials, and customers with finished products. Modern warehouse design and state of the art technology have brought the industry to the forefront of business today.

You will be involved with the handling, storage, packing and movement of goods in and out of the warehouse. To do this job well individuals need to be highly organised and ready to take responsibility. This dynamic industry can offer fast career progression to those with the right skills and attitude.

What does the training involve?

This qualification is very flexible in its structure, enabling the organisation and individual to choose the optional units which best suit their work situation and job role. Like all NVQ’s, the qualification is competence based. This means that it is linked to your ability to perform a range of tasks connected with your work. You will plan a programme of development and assessment with an assessor and compile a portfolio of evidence to prove your competence and knowledge. You will attend Martec once a month on day release.

What will I achieve?

Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship, Technical Certificate, Key Skills around Application of Number and Communication.
