As we say goodbye to another exciting year at Martec Training, it’s time to reflect on the highlights and achievements that we’ve accomplished in 2023.

From one-of-a-kind field trips and industry events to valuable partnerships and student successes, 2023 has been a year of growth and enrichment.

Educational excursions

1. Leoni wiring factory visit:

Our apprentices had the opportunity to visit the Leoni Wiring Factory in Newcastle-under-Lyme. They gained hands-on experience witnessing the intricate process of wiring loom production for cars. The opportunity to try their hand on the production line left a lasting impression, making it an unforgettable experience for all.

2. Automechanika Birmingham:

All study programme and apprentice students had the chance to explore the Automechanika event in Birmingham. Engaging with businesses from the mechanical world, and enjoying educational talks from industry professionals, the event provided invaluable insights into the workings of the industry.

3. Enrichment day with positivity/lifestyle coach:

In a new initiative, selected students spent a day with a positivity/lifestyle coach. The day provided the students with tools to enhance their student experience, manage exam stress, and apply life skills. The immersive class was well received and students appreciated the chance to actively participate in activities geared towards personal development.

4. Visit from local MP Aaron Bell:

On May 26th, 2023, local MP Aaron Bell visited Martec Training to explore the facilities. His interest in championing employment in the area led him to commend our extensive mechanical facilities for students and apprentices.

Industry partnerships

1. Welcome PJ Automotive and Van National:

PJ Automotive and Van National have joined forces with Martec Training, making a significant impact on our work experience students. In 2023, both companies actively took on work experience students, provided valuable workplace conditions, and secured apprentices for the upcoming year. Demonstrating their commitment to nurturing future talent.

2. Student appreciation! Shane Salt:

We take pride in the success stories of our students, such as Shane Salt, a second year autocare apprentice with Martec Training. Shane’s journey from a pre-16 student to a successful apprentice highlights the quality of education and support at Martec Training. Congratulations to Shane on passing his Level 2 Mathematics qualification and making strides in his English studies.

Creative celebrations

1. Coronation celebration:

In celebration of King Charles III coronation, our body and paint apprentices took on a creative challenge. They decorated one of our Mini’s with the Union Jack, showcasing their talent at various locations. A special thank you to Precision Vehicle Repairs, Umesh Samani Specialist Cars/Harris Motor Campaign, and BS Marson & Sons for featuring the Mini over the bank holiday weekend.

2. Motorsport track day:

Our motorsport students had an amazing experience at Donnington Park, participating in a track day alongside their qualifications. From track races to understanding pit mechanics, the day was a perfect blend of education and excitement.

As we look back on this remarkable year, we extend our thanks to our students and staff for their dedication and enthusiasm. Here’s to another year of learning and success at Martec Training!
