Further your career with our exclusive Level 3 (MET) apprenticeship, in partnership with the IMI.
This latest Level 3 Apprenticeship is targeted towards vehicle damage, Mechanical, Electrical and Trim (MET) technicians and will enable those already working in a body shop or garage to further advance their abilities and knowledge within automotive technology.
As one of the region’s IMI Approved Centres this higher-level Apprenticeship qualification is offered exclusively by our training facility. The qualification will be made easily accessible to automotive apprentices throughout Stoke-on-Trent, the Staffordshire areas and beyond, and will be delivered directly from our Newcastle-based training centre.
Our close collaboration with the IMI has enabled us to support many young people as they work to broaden their skills and further enhance employability prospects within automotive technology. We are proud to be a registered centre for the delivery of City & Guilds and the Institute of Motor Industry (IMI) qualifications through apprenticeships and NVQs for both apprenticeships and adult learning.
A special launch event will soon be announced for local companies and eligible staff to attend in order to find out more.
A Vehicle Damage Mechanical, Electrical and Trim Technician work in the vehicle body repair sector of the motor industry. The role is to identify damaged mechanical and electrical components on a damaged Car/Light Commercial Vehicle and remove and refit these components before and after body repair work has been carried out. They typically work on repairing vehicles that have been involved in accidents or similar incidents. This is usually within a collision repair workshop.
They are experts in identifying damaged mechanical and electrical components on vehicles. They may work as part of a team or more autonomously and they are usually under the supervision of a more senior technician.
